With a carpeted, 10,000-square foot exhibition area, Founder's Hall can be set to serve 750 people banquet-style or to seat up to 1000 people, theater-style. Without chairs, the hall becomes a center for receptions, trade shows and exhibitions, including our annual doll, woodcarving, and quilt show.
The hall opened in April of 1988. The 65-foot laminated arches were sent from the state of Washington by rail and each weighs over two ton. Mike
Bendele, then the blacksmith at Historic Sauder Village, was commissioned by founder Erie Sauder to create the beautiful chandelier, while the 52 glass globes were blown by Village Glassblower,
Mark Matthews, for the hall which opened in April of 1988.
